From our first meeting to discuss concepts to the finished product we felt like we had been befriended by this amazing duo and their trades people. This was our first “real” reno. Anything that I had done in the past was just paint, flooring and things like that. I had never removed walls or a kitchen, a whole kitchen! Sure, there were a few minor issues but they were addressed quickly and professionally. Teresa and Jonathan included us throughout every stage of the decision-making process and took our 1984 very dated suite and brought it up to 2020 contemporary just in time for us to enter the COVID lockdown era! We’ve never spent so much time at home and we’ve loving it. Teresa controlled our budget like an accountant while giving us the opportunity to upgrade what we wanted.
Once the construction was finished the painting began, we opted for high quality prep and paint, did Gabe Penner ever come through for us, our walls and trim are perfect!

Last May, my husband and I went out for two hours and came home to find that a water hose in the upstairs bathroom had cracked and water was pouring from the top floor right through to the basement. The damage was catastrophic requiring new carpet, hardwood floors, replacement of drywall and ceiling repair on all three levels of our home.
Once the time came to choose a contractor, our insurance representative provided some names. When I called Teresa and asked her when she could start, she replied "I can meet you at your house tonight with some floor and carpet samples". Right then and there I knew I had found my contractor.
Teresa and Jonathan's wonderful sense of design and extensive knowledge of home repairs was a welcome relief during a traumatic time. They handled everything and even did a few extra things we wanted done to our home during the process.
The work was completed in only 3 weeks, which was exactly the time frame they gave me. During that time, Teresa always kept me informed and if I had a question about anything, she responded immediately.
The final result was perfect. We love our home even more than we did before the flood. And it is all thanks to Teresa and Jonathan of Rethink Homes.

We hired Rethink Homes the first time to do a bathroom reno on a typical 1970s bathroom. The job they did in refreshing and upgrading the space was incredible! They listened to what my vision was, and using that as a jumping off point, gave us a space I couldn’t have ever imagined owning. The tile work was perfection, and after it was done, I gave every guest, including the friends of my teens a tour of the space. I was so proud to show off my beautiful bathroom!
We rehired Rethink Homes to completely renovate our 3400+ sq ft home in preparation for sale. It has been an absolute delight to work with Teresa & Jonathan Penner from Rethink Homes.
They worked with my mother and her husband, who are both in their mid-seventies. Teresa & Jonathan helped them with remodeling, repainting and repurposing things in their new townhouse, here in Abbotsford.
The townhouse my folks purchased was previously owned by a couple in their early 80’s, and the townhouse definitely had that feel to it. Teresa & Jonathan did an amazing job of helping them pick out new paint colours, new light fixtures, and repainting their kitchen cabinets and adding new door handles and pulls to really update the home. The kitchen and both bathrooms got granite countertops as well as new fixtures and just the simple changes and new paint and fixing holes in the walls, etc., just made it so wonderful. My folks were away for two weeks, while most of the ‘big’ work was being done, and Teresa called me a few times to check and see if I thought my folks would like what she had chosen, and with a few other items along the way. They made the process so easy and tidy, it was impressive.
When my folks came home from their holiday, we had a ‘Reveal’ for them the next morning. They were both so impressed with the changes in their new home, and when Mom saw her new kitchen she just started to cry – they loved everything!!
I even had the opportunity to be present when the final invoice was being presented, and they went through every cost with such detail, so very professional, yet very loving in their presentation.
I would definitely recommend Teresa & Jonathan ( and their son Gabe, who did most of the painting ) to everyone that wants a trustworthy company to help them renovate or repurpose their home, new or old. In fact, I will be hiring them to help with my repainting and repurposing this coming Fall.
